It’s with great pleasure that we host three brilliant new artists, with WRKHOUSE coming to CWRW, supported by LICO and Eurekas!

One of BBC Cymru’s top 5 artists to watch, now a BBC Horizons Launchpad Fund awardee, WRKHOUSE are moving fast. Their long-awaited debut EP, Out of the Blue, is an uber-confident package of bilingual songwriting, crammed with invigorating hooks, vast arrangements, and textural echoes of their upbringing in North Wales. With the likes of CLASH magazine, Radio 1’s Sian Eleri and BBC Introducing’s Jess Iszat all singing their praises, WRKHOUSE have quickly gathered pockets of loyal fans across the country, having just finished a successful debut headline UK launch tour. Now, with their brand of atmospheric, groove-heavy alt-pop placing them firmly among Wales’ newest generation of exciting emerging acts, WRKHOUSE have set the stage for a big 2024.

LICO announced themselves to the world in January 2024, with the release of their first single ‘Blocker Beta’, quickly receiving support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Wales and Amazing Radio. Starting as a bedroom project, masterminded by Fin Anderton and Declan Bodger, the pair quickly realised they needed a band to bring the sound to life onstage, so they called on friends Lloyd, Sam and Cal to bring the dynamic sound to stage. The dual-fronted band take influence from a range of sources creating an unforgivingly dynamic sound, not defined by genre or style, combining cynical witty lyrics, with modern synths, gritty baselines, groovy guitar and thumping drums. Fin and Declan met for the first time when they were both 13 years old, taking a keen interest in riding penny skateboards, wearing awful chinos together and realising they had similar tastes in music and fashion, and have been friends ever since.

Realising that their combined creative talents led to a magic greater than the sum of its parts, joint-lead singers Jack Perrett and Dan Burridge formed Eurekas in 2021. Since then, the band have busily established themselves as ones to watch on the South Wales scene, gigging with unwavering determination and enthusiasm at venues across the country. Debut single ‘Made You Look’ was well received by a host of highly regarded figures within the world of indie rock including none other than legendary BBC 6 Music DJ Steve Lamacq. The track has also garnered international attention, including that of giants of US radio Sirius XM.
