Built in 1786. This old coaching inn has had a variety of interesting guests, from Sir Winston Churchill to Gandhi. It also has a number of creepy and tragic stories such as the discovery of a Victorian skeleton and the suicide of a young girl who now haunts the building. Amongst many ghostly sightings, visitors have witnessed duvets being pulled off the beds, items levitating, taps turning on and curtains closing on their own. Some claim to have been grabbed by the neck and vowed never to return.
